Omiya Bonsai Festival

On May 5th, Bill and I visited the annual Omiya (pronounced O me a) Bonsai Festival in the prefecture, Saitama, north of Tokyo.  The trip by subway and train took about an hour.

Bonsai (pronounced: bones eye) is a Japanese art form using miniature trees grown in containers.

We strolled the area and visited many bonsai farms within walking distance.  Enjoy the photos.

We were in awe of these works of art.  Each one so beautiful!  It was hard to resist taking photos of every single one.
